THC cream, THC ointment or THC balm - what is it really?

Before we move on to the content of the product, it is wise to first clear up some (possible) misunderstandings. Because that THC liniment, is it a cream, an ointment, or perhaps a balm? Well, that's simple: all those different terms mean the same thing in practice. In this case it is mainly about the substance, which is indeed a spread. Call it a THC cream or a THC ointment, but we mean the following: a substance containing THC, which geeasy np the skin can be lubricated. 

Origin of THC cream 

THC cream may sound new because it is becoming popular again, but it is not. Not even at all. People used z. as far back as ancient Egyptelf-made ointments, also based on cannabis, for a variety of reasons. The growing attention for THC cream is therefore a renewed appreciation of a historical use rather than just a modern experiment.

How cannabis cream works

The cannabis plant contains the substance THC, which has a psychoactive effect. This substance is often processed in joints and cannabis oil, but also in cream. Another fabric from the cannabis plant is CBD. This is also an important ingredient for the final cannabis cream. The power of the cream is precisely in CBD. That's because this substance contributes to the endocannabinoid system that is in every body. The cream is therefore an extra for the body. 

Use of the THC ointment

As already mentioned, the ointment should be applied to the skin. It is smart to wash the skin with soap and water beforehand to get rid of dirt. Then the cream can be better absorbed by the body. Once the skin is clean, you can simply smear the cream on it. Then let it withdraw for a while. This may take several minutes. After that it is slim to wrap the skin with a bandage, for example, so that you can be sure that the ointment remains on it. How quickly the ointment takes effect varies a lot. This can take anywhere from 1 to 48 hours. 

If the effect is not yet satisfactory, you can reapply the ointment, but wait a while. After 1 or 2 days, so that there is no longer any doubt about it delayed effects of the last time, you can smear it again. 

How much THC ointment you should use

Not much can be said about the amount of ointment to be applied. That largely depends on your own wishes. In any case, you do not have to be too frugal, you can simply lubricate generously. What is still good to know: the skin of children and the elderly is thinner than that of other people, so less is needed for that. And of course: always read the instructions that come with the cannabis cream for more information. 

What is the difference between THC ointment and THC oil?

Yes, that is a fair question. Why not just choose THC oil instead of THC ointment? Well, oil is taken by mouth. It is therefore not possible to use oil for a specific place on your body. That is the great power of THC cream: you apply it exactly where you want to care for your skin, and the cream does the rest.

Make your own THC cream

Good news: it is quite easy to produce THC cream yourself. For this you need the following ingredients: 

• 10 grams of cannabis (dried and ground; preferably cannabis that contains a lot of CBD) 
• 30 to 50 grams of beeswax 
• 350 grams of coconut oil 
• Possibly: an essential oil, for the final scent of the ointment (e.g. mint or tea tree oil) 

You also need the following items: 

• A big pot 
• A saucepan 
• Baking paper 
• A cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve 
• Small jars finally to store the ointment 

The roadmap 

1. Preheat the oven to approximately 110-115 degrees 
2. Place the cannabis on the baking paper, and spread the cannabis over the geentire surface 
3. Leave the cannabis in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Also important: in between, so after about 15 minutes, stir / mix briefly 
4. In the meantime (so while the cannabis is in the oven), put the coconut oil in the saucepan. Put this pan on a low heat, stirring a little every now and then 
5. Mix the cannabis with the coconut oil in the saucepan. Again, the temperature of the pan must remain low 
6. Then stir the mixture for about 20 minutes. And here again: don't let it get too hot! 
7. Now you have made a cannabis oil. Remove the oil from the heat 
8. Filter the cannabis oil through the cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer. You can use the large pot for this 
9. The beeswax can now be placed in the saucepan, again at low vuhour 
10. When the beeswax has melted, you can use the filtered add cannabis oil to this. Now it is Blong to stir equally well 
11. For the lover of pleasant scents, this is your chance to add a few drops of the essential oil you have chosen 
12. Stir again 
13. The fire can go out. You are done 
14. Pour the mixture into suitable containers. And there is your cannabis salve 
15. Last point of interest: keep the jars in a cool and dark place
