CBG crystals – 5000 mg CBG – Dutch Hemp

If you want to create a cannabis product with a very specific amount of cannabinoids in it – for example, medication that needs to be precise to the milligram, cosmetics, supplements and the like. In that case you need something called isolate, CBG isolate that is. FYI: CBG isolate is the same as CBG crystals.

CBG isolate is the purest form of cannabigerol available on the cannabis market. As the name suggests, the CBG is isolated from any other substance.

The final product is a white, powdery substance that is more than 99% pure. It can be added to anything, for example: food, drinks, medicines, cosmetics and more.

What is MEB?

CBG (cannabigerol), or rather CBGA, was discovered in the XNUMXs by none other than Raphael Mechoulam, an Israeli professor who dedicated his life to medical cannabis research.

After the discovery of THC and CBD, Mechoulam and his partner Yehiel Gaoni isolated the cannabinoid CBG.

CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) is simply CBG that still has its carboxylic acid group and can be found in completely unprocessed cannabis plants. It is one of the most important cannabinoids out there - it is a precursor to all other cannabinoids. CBG is rightly called the mother of all cannabinoids.

Specifically, CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) is a direct line to three major cannabinoids: tetrahydrocannabinoleic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA).

Once exposed to heat or light in a process known as decarboxylation, THCA, CBDA and CBCA will lose their carboxylic acid group and become THC, CBD and CBC, respectively.

However, when it comes to CBGA, certain enzymes break it down and immediately convert it to THCA, CBDA or CBCA. This is why more THC means less CBG, because of the unique way these compounds interact and are synthesized.

As a result, hemp plants will have their highest cannabigerol content early in the flowering phase. Most types of hemp plants will convert almost all of the CBG into other cannabinoids when fully grown. As mentioned above, some hemp strains naturally produce large amounts of CBG instead of CBD or THC.

What is Isolate?

As the name suggests, CBG isolate is made by completely isolating the cannabigerol from all other plant substances and compounds. This means that all other cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and inactive substances such as plant waxes are removed from the extract, leaving only CBG. The final product is a fine white powder with more than 95% – 99% CBG.

Because it is odorless, tasteless and highly concentrated, it is perfect for use in the manufacture of many medical and wellness products.

The purity means that 1 milligram (mg) of isolate is exactly equal to 1 milligram of CBG.

While 1 milligram of a less potent extract may contain 0,5 milligrams of CBG, 0,3 milligrams of CBD and 0,2 milligrams of other terpenes and compounds.

This makes isolate very easy to use for a specific dosage.

How is it made?

To make isolate, the CBG must be extracted from the hemp plant. There are tons of ways to do this. The most widely used method in the cannabis industry and the consumer favorite is CO2 extraction. The equipment is industrial and very expensive, but this method results in a very pure end product. A closed loop system is used to cool CO2 down to -56 ° C as the pressure in the chamber is increased to 75 psi (pound-force per square inch).

The CO2 becomes “supercritical” at this stage, because it is somewhere between a liquid and gaseous state. Then the CO2 is led through the closed chamber. The CO2 acts as a kind of solvent. The MEB is extracted in this way and remains intact.

The above process is called supercritical CO2 extraction. There is also a sub-critical CO2 extraction, using cheaper equipment, lower pressure and lower yields.

A more cost-efficient, but equally effective method is with an ethanol extraction system. Ethanol extraction involves applying the solvent ethanol directly to the hemp plant to extract the cannabinoids. This extraction method has gotten a bad reputation, but that is not correct. Ethanol extraction is actually a FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved method of extracting compounds from various plants to make food and medicine.

However, there is a problem with ethanol extraction. Certain compounds easily extract together with ethanol, for example chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a molecule that absorbs sunlight and converts it into plant energy. It also gives plants their green color. When using ethanol extraction, the chlorophyll may need to be removed in a separate process. Chlorophyll has a sharp / bitter taste.

What are CBG crystals used for?

The crystals can be used to make anything that contains CBG - edibles, skin products, tinctures, softgels, nasal sprays, various pharmaceuticals, and so on. Anything that requires accurate dosing and very specific measurements will benefit from isolate.

It is even better if the isolate is manufactured in a GMP certified area. GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice. It is already a requirement in Europe, India and many other countries / continents that all medicines, supplements and cosmetics must be GMP certified.

GMP is the way of the future when it comes to the medicinal cannabis and hemp industry.

Make your own CBG oil

Would you like to make CBG oil yourself? That can be done very simply.

Buy a vegetable oil. This can be, for example, hemp seed oil, olive oil or MCT oil.

When you add 1000 mg Dutch Hemp CBG crystals to 9 ml hemp seed oil, a 10% CBG oil is created.

If you add 500 mg Dutch Hemp CBG crystals to 9,5 ml of vegetable oil, a 9,5% CBG oil is created. And so forth.

Dissolving the CBG crystals is very simple. Fill a pipette bottle with vegetable oil and add the CBG crystals.

Heat the pipette bottle in hot water for approximately 10 minutes using the au-bain marie method. Shake well until all crystals have dissolved and your CBG oil is ready.

What is the correct dosage?

The most suitable dosage varies per person. We recommend using between 10-100 mg CBG isolate per day.

For example, start with 2 x 10 mg per day. You can then gradually increase the dose per day.
